Natural Language
As is the case with many new technologies when they’re in their infancy, there are many avenues to explore. These avenues may or may not be paths to advancement. More and more, it is looking like with AI that the development of natural language recognition and synthesis capabilities may be a key lynch pin towards making AI work for me, you, and everyone else.
Currently, many accept that the most powerful natural language model thus far is the GPT-3 code developed by OpenAI. Another natural language model on the cutting edge is the BERT model developed by the so-called Brain team at Google (subsidiary of Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL)). BERT is currently employed by both Google’s and Microsoft’s (NASDAQ: MSFT) search engines to increase their ease of use and real-world effectiveness.
Natural language capabilities enable a huge number of AI applications. Speech recognition, like we all enjoy with apps like Siri and the automated telephone directories (i.e. “say or press one to be connected to the pharmacist”), have all improved over the years due to advancements in advanced language capabilities. There is more like this on the way. Very soon, natural language capabilities will allow computers to actually become creative in the sense that we associate with humans. They will write poetry, music, and even lengthy works like fiction novels. They will also create infographics and corporate logos much faster and more vibrant than humans could create.
Generative AI that can create paintings based on a few thematic words are already available with algorithms, such as DALL-E and Google’s Muse. These too will dramatically gain in sophistication within the next few years.
In only a few years, natural language enabled augmented workforce assistance will be possible that will make Siri look like a kindergartener.
We’ll work alongside AI devices with amazing cognitive abilities that will make us complete our work faster and better than ever before. For example, in law offices, there will soon be AI devices that enable attorneys to sift through thousands of pages of evidence and records to select the most substantive facts.
This would function like a highly automated version of data mining tools that some professionals use today. Soldiers on the battlefield are already using AI-enhanced devices to help them determine which enemy targets are likely to inflict the most damage to opposing armies. This is going on in the Russian- Ukraine war. Zoologists are working to develop AI models that learn and interpret animal languages, thus helping them to better understand the subjects of their studies.
Drag and Drop AI
In the near term, companies can expect AI to become more and more “drag and drop.” If you recall, many years ago, if you wanted to make a website for yourself or your business, you had to be able to write code in HTML or JavaScript.
With time, companies like Wix came around that enabled websites to be created using graphic icons that allowed website developers to drag and drop elements of their website like lines, squares, background fields, text and other more ornate graphics, like stars or thumbs up symbols.
The same type of ease is about to come with AI. People wishing to create AI apps will be able to create them by dragging and dropping boxes representing functionality into block diagrams. This will make AI much faster and easier to benefit from than needing to really get under the hood of models like BERT and GPT-3 and modifying code.
AI and the Metaverse
Not surprisingly, AI will also have a profound impact on the Metaverse. Already, Metaverse pioneers at Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) are planning on utilizing AI in its Metaverse. There will be “bots” within that one can do things with, like playing tennis and chess. Perhaps it will even be possible to play in rock bands in the Metaverse.
For example, your bandmates will respond to your guitar rhythms and cords to create music in very organic ways, like in rock bands today.
The AI MegaTrend
There are many examples of wonderful new opportunities that AI will afford the people using it. There’s much to be excited about. The companies mentioned above are some of the most prolific developers in the field, for now. Investing in them over the long term will allow you to take advantage of the incredible advancement in AI that we will all experience and live in the next decade.
Introducing Proffe’s Trend Portfolio 2.0!
A new market deserves a fresh start…
In November 2021, Proffe’s Trend Portfolio officially crossed the $1,600,000 target. I reached this milestone with a portfolio of just a dozen stocks and a unique options strategy I perfected in Europe and brought to the US.
Having hit that benchmark, after starting with $30,000 about a decade before, I started to wonder how I could best help new subscribers that are coming on board now at this particular time.
Given the current economic conditions and the massive pullback across all three major indexes, I have decided to relaunch my flagship newsletter: Proffe’s Trend Portfolio.
Join Us!
Your nest egg – and grandchildren – will thank you!
Now and for a limited time, you can experience the market beating returns of Proffe’s Trend Portfolio for only $1 for a full 14 days! During your risk-free trial, you’ll get a firsthand look at how my strategy works and the MegaTrend stocks in the portfolio.
The new portfolio will follow the same criteria and investing philosophy that’s the bedrock of my (and my subscribers’) success, and that means a small portfolio of MegaTrend stocks that tick all the boxes in my Trendsetter Strategy and long-term, in-the-money call options that leverage the same MegaTrend themes as the stocks in the portfolio.
