Certainly, our MegaTrend plays, like Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN), Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG), and NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA), continue to attract interest from the top AI firms to work with their chips and processing units.

There are also wild ideas about where to put these massive data centers as well, since they take up enormous amounts of electricity and potable water. People are proposing they put them underground, in caves, in space, and on water.
Speaking of water, water consumption is an issue with data centers that are placed in rural areas where a data center competes for water resources with farmers and ranchers.
In more developed areas, the water infrastructure may not be robust enough to manage the demands of the volume of data centers in locations like Northern Virginia, or Los Angeles.

The electricity demands are also significant.

The next wave that’s just beginning is the companies that will help the big tech firms build these data centers, so they’re self-sufficient and have less of a footprint for the surrounding businesses, farms, and families.
For example, GOOG just signed a deal with Indiana power company NiSource (NYSE: NI) to build a data center.
NI has a subsidiary that works on these commercial projects separate from its consumer facing utility division. The subsidiary can then manage the build and the generation and transmission cost as separate and distinct from the electricity delivered to its utility customers.
AMZN also has a deal with NI.
The innovators are also companies that will specialize in resource management challenges on both the water and electricity side. A handful of names to watch are Equinix (NASDAQ: EQIX), Comfort Systems (NYSE: FIX), Itron (NASDAQ: ITRI), and Xylem (NYSE: XYL).
I found this next level of up-and-comers with my Trendsetter Strategy and stepped into this version of AI growth already.
It’s these kinds of ground floor opportunities that make such a difference in the stocks I hold and why I don’t need dozens of stocks to get enough diversification and safety.
Actually, I don’t even need a dozen stocks!
This new phase will be the one that turns the potential into practice, and that’s going to be a big win for all the dominant players.
